List of apps that are not compatible Nokia Lumia 610

After almost one year toting my trusty, but battery-sucking Motorola Droid R2-D2, I decided to buy a new phone. I was thinking of getting another Android, but after hearing my friends testimonies about their Samsung Galaxy S II and its paltry battery life (this phone, along with Sony Xperia Arc, is the top-of-the-line phone of 2011, mind you), I decided to look away from the green camp. Previously, once you move from Android, there’s only the iPhone. Although the kids seem happy on the Apple side of the world, I’m not content of spending upwards $700 for a 4 or 4S, when iPhone 5 will be released in 6 months. So I decided for a brand new experience, in form of a Nokia Lumia 610, a very cheap Windows Phone, priced only $250, bundled with a stereo Bluetooth headset.

An 800MHz single-core processor and 256MB of RAM doesn’t scream “high-end” in any way, but I wanted to thread the unknown waters of Windows Phone before investing $500 or more in the Lumia 800 (the 900 is still MIA in Indonesia). After all, I might hate the experience. But I was blown away. Despite having the specifications of mid-tier phone of 2010, navigating through the OS stock functions is smooth as butter. But, as you would expect, such specs won’t run every apps smoothly. In fact, Microsoft won’t allow us to download some games and applications that they think will not deliver the “Redmond experience” if used by the Lumia 610. Unfortunately, regardless of Microsoft’s restriction, those incompatible apps still show up in the Marketplace, waiting to be clicked by a Lumia 610 owner, only to smack us in the face with a “This app is not compatible with your phone” message and a non-existent Install button.

So, here I am, listing all the apps that I encountered that is not compatible with Nokia Lumia 610. I will start with the Top and Free apps & games, before eventually expanding to other games and applications through out the Marketplace.

So, there you have it. This lists is not by all means complete. I will be updating them when I find more incompatible apps. By making this list, I hope I could help some people who are currently considering this phone (or other low-budget Windows Phone, since Microsoft keep a very tight spec sheet, phones should have similar hardware underneath).

Perbandingan ukuran dan resolusi monitor [LCD]

Sekedar sharing. Jaman dulu kalo kita beli monitor buat PC atau mau beli laptop, kita cuma ngebandingin ukuran fisiknya aja. Dulu gak ada banyak pilihan. Tapi sekarang monitor ada dari ukuran 7″-18.5″ (untuk notebook) , 15.6″-27″ (untuk PC), dan juga HDTV (32″-65″), yang juga bisa dijadiin monitor PC dengan koneksi HDMI.

Dengan harga yang bisa beda sampe Rp 1 juta untuk ukuran yang beda cuma 1″, milih monitor udah gak sesimple jaman dulu lagi. Dan ini masalah yang DisplayWars berusaha untuk memberikan solusinya! MOVIE REVIEW: Susahnya Jadi Perawan (2008)

Ini film kalo diliat dari sinopsisnya, kayaknya lumayan menarik. Cerita tentang seorang calon penyanyi yang berusaha mempertahankan keperawanannya sambil berjuang mewujudkan impiannya.

TAPI…

Yang ada ini film cuma parade product placement! Kayaknya produser film ini, yang gua bahkan gak mau buang-buang waktu untuk cari tau namanya, berharap sepenuhnya dari dana sponsor buat bikin film!

MOVIE REVIEW: Otomatis Romantis (2008)

Hmm, kayaknya para filmmaker-filmmaker Indonesia belom bisa lepas dari paradigma film horror, drama percintaan, dan film remaja. Otomatis Romantis dalam hal ini merupakan perpaduan film remaja (film wanita) yang diisi dengan cerita percintaan dan coba-coba memasukan unsur komedi ke film ini. Komedi di film ini bukanlah dalam arti sesungguhnya, karena hanya dibawa oleh aktor-aktor yang bermain, tanpa adanya kekuatan cerita.

Sebut saja Tora Sudiro, Tukul, Mpok Atik, Wulan Guritno, Cintami Atmanegara, dan Tarzan. Sayang sekali, sang sutradara sepertinya ingin sok-sok keren dengan memasang mereka-mereka di atas (kecuali Tora) pada peran-peran cameo. Padahal, potensi dengan bercampurnya tiga juara lawak Indonesia pantas untuk lebih digali lagi dan pasti akan menggegerkan bioskop kalau digarap dengan benar.

MOVIE REVIEW: Goal 3 is a piece of SHIT! (2009)
